The Disc Golf Pro Tour Makes Its First Ever Stop In Butler County
Cranberry Township, PA – August 7, 2022: The Disc Golf Pro Tour makes a stop in Butler County, PA, on September 9-11 for the Butler County Disc Golf Classic (BCDGC), sponsored by the Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau and hosted by Pittsburgh Flying Disc (PFD) and Cranberry Township. The BCDGC will be the biggest disc golf tournament held in Southwestern Pennsylvania since the 2015 Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA) Pro Disc Golf World Championships. 140 top men and women disc golfers will compete for a $25,000.00 purse and the right to call themselves the champion and the master of the North Boundary Championship Disc Golf Course. This event also marks the first professional-level tournament at the course, making this a momentous occasion.
Cranberry Township and PFD have been working to prepare the course for top-level professional disc golf since the course was opened in North Boundary Park as the 2018 Cranberry Township Community Chest Project of the Year. Additionally, PFD Course Promoters and volunteers have been hard at work over the past eight months to get the course in the best playing condition it has ever been. Players will be tested by the challenging distance, steep elevation, and wooded fairways of the course, which will play as a 10,314 foot, Par 71 course for the men and 8,453 foot, Par 72 for women.
Spectators will be able to watch the competition from prime viewing areas throughout the course. Daily spectator passes are on sale now for as little as $10.00 a day on the Disc Golf Pro Tour website. Spectator tickets can be purchased here: https://www.dgpt.com/event/butler-county-disc-golf-classic/
