PFD is a volunteer-based organization established in 1981 and incorporated as a 501c3 Non-Profit in 2017 with a mission to foster and promote the sport of Disc Golf and support the growth of the sport in Western Pennsylvania. Our mission achieved through events such as tournaments and leagues, programs and publications dedicated to disc golf education, community involvement, and other related charitable purposes.
We currently steward and promote nine courses in Allegheny and Butler counties and provide leadership and coordination to a network of disc golf advocates and volunteers 100s strong. With great pride and hard work we organize events of many sizes ranging from local leagues and beginner clinics to international tournaments like Disc Golf Worlds hosted at Moraine State Park in 2015 which featured the top disc golf processionals across the world. Our dedication to sustainable course development, maintenance, and partnerships with the parks is key to enabling these prestigious and very enjoyable events.

The number of disc golfers across the world is growing at 20% annually and thousands of new players are trying disc golf every year. This is focusing our attention on enhancing our already world-class courses to become even more beginner-friendly by providing options of holes that are shorter and less difficult, which includes including new or improved teepad surfaces to start each hole, signs, maps, and information kiosks to provide guidance on how to play, safety, and navigation. We are seeking relationships with local companies to help us accelerate this infrastructure development in our established and future planned courses.

To help accomplish this goal we are seeking donations including financial, materials (e.g. concrete), and installation expertise contractors. We have a variety of methods to thank our donors including options such as name recognition on the course, event sponsorships, and networking opportunities with municipalities.
