May 1996 - Carrick High School teachers Dan Tyger, Russ Peters, Larry Jackson, and J. Gary Dropcho help students design, get approval for, construct and install baskets and tee markers for a nine-hole course in Phillips Park. Mike Gable from Pittsburgh Public Works and Citiparks provided use of land and tools.
August 2000 - Carrick student Jim O’Mara completes his Eagle Scout requirements by raising $1500 and installing concrete tee pads on the Phillips Park course.
South of Pittsburgh. From Liberty Tunnels take Rte. 51 south to a left at 1st light (Bausman St.), to a right on Brownsville Rd., 2 miles to a right on Parkfield St. 1 block to War Memorial - the park is straight ahead. 1st tee on left over hill at the top of the stairs.
